WrestleMania 41 Night 1 results: Rey Mysterio wasn’t  able to compete at WrestleMania 41 because of an injury he suffered on this week’s SmackDown. Rey Fenix stepped into his shoes at The Show of Shows for his match against El Grande Americano.  He, however, came up short against the 'great luchador'. 

Rey Fenix made his WrestleMania debut when he replaced Rey Mysterio in his match against El Grande Americano and gave a good account of himself. Penta’s brother went on the offensive early in the match and impressed fans with his high-flying moves. Americano, however, managed to turn the tables towards the end when he inserted a metallic object in his mask.

 He then delivered two headbutts to his foe to pick up the win. He also applied an ankle lock on his foe but failed to make him submit.

WrestleMania 41 Night 1 started off with Jey Uso beating Gunther to capture the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career. The event also saw Jacob Fatu, Jade Cargill, and The New Day emerge victorious
