GST Collection April 2025: Since the GST was implemented in 2017, all previous records have been broken by the record-breaking Rs 2.37 lakh crore in April 2025, a 12.6% year-over-year rise. This astounding rise comes after the Rs 2.10 lakh crore collected in April of last year, which significantly exceeded the Rs 1.96 lakh crore received in March of 2025.
According to statistics from the Finance Ministry, domestic transaction income climbed from Rs 1.71 lakh crore in April 2024 to Rs 1.9 lakh crore in April 2025, a 10.7% rise. Furthermore, from Rs 38,835 crore to Rs 46,913 crore during the same time last year, the GST on imported items rose by 20.8%.
The net GST income was above Rs 2.09 lakh crore after the reduction of refunds, which rose by 48.3% to Rs 27,341 crore. This is a 9.1% increase over the Rs 1.91 lakh crore in April 2024.
Leading States in State-by-State Collection: Maharashtra
Karnataka came in second with Rs 17,815 crore, also representing an 11% increase; Haryana collected Rs 14,057 crore in April; Maharashtra reported the highest GST contribution among the states, collecting Rs 41,645 crore in April 2025, an 11% increase over Rs 37,671 crore in April of the previous year.
Collections from Other States
Rs 2239 2592 16 was collected by Uttarakhand.
Delhi got Rs 7772 8260 6 in revenue.
Rs 12290 1360 11 was collected by Uttar Pradesh.
Bihar was able to collect Rs 19922 290 15.
