House Arrest Contestant Gehana Vashisht: The allegations of obscenity on the reality show house arrest of the owl app have caught fire. The show's contestant Jewel Vasistha released a video responding to these allegations. In which he not only defended the show but also took a dig at the critics citing the bold scene of actresses like Mandakini, Priyanka Chopra and Radhika Apte. This dispute has created a stir from social media to the National Commission for Women (NCW).
Jewel Vasistha came in front of the camera in Dipane Red Dress and justified the house arrest. He said, 'All the contestants are 18 years old and are adults. All are doing this show on their own free will. Where did Ejaz Khan and owl come from in this? They have given us a platform. He is the host of the show and we are doing all the activity. We are not doing any force. We are positioning yoga here. There are many other places where they remain. Jewel connected the show with yoga and entertainment, but his statement gave further air to the controversy.
Jewel accused the critics of hypocrisy and said, 'Have you not seen anything like this while doing yoga? Have you not seen anyone to tear anyone's clothes on TV? This is just a reality show. Reality shows like a reality show Low Na Guise. Why do you guys start watching him like a knowledge -enhancing show? Our show is not to give knowledge to anyone but to entertain. You guys find entertainment in knowledge -filled shows and knowledge in entertainment shows. How many hypocrites are you guys. This statement went viral on social media. After which many users criticized him.
According to the report of the movie Talkies, Jewel cited Bollywood veteran actresses. He said 'When Priyanka Chopra did nude scenes in Bollywood. Radhika Apte gave a topless scene. Mandakini gave topless scene in Ram Teri Ganga. Then no one opposed it. You have a problem with me. When you all watch adult videos online, it is not a vulgar for you. When a woman gives a bold scene, she becomes an issue for you. This statement deepened the controversy as many people considered it an inappropriate comparison.
Viral clips of 'House Arrest' which showed the clothes of contestants and shown pornographic tasks. Which provoked anger across the country. The National Commission for Women has issued summons to the CEO of the owl app Vibhu Aggarwal and the host Ejaz Khan of the show on 9 May. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey also strongly condemned the show and demanded strict action. After a viral video, the owl app removed the show from the platform but the controversy is not taking the name of stopping.
