New Delhi: WAVES 2025, has been a one of a kind Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit. Held in Mumbai, it was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the theme of the summit was exploring the theme ‘Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries’.

The Summit saw a lot of luminaries from the film industry take part and share their views on different aspects to their craft. One of the heavyweights of India’s entertainment industry today is South superstar Allu Arjun who was also present during the event to share his views on a diverse range of topics.

Fitness and wellness, the need of the hour

In the ‘Talent Beyond Borders’ session during the WAVES Summit, South superstar Allu Arjun sat down with TV9 Network’s MD & CEO Barun Das in a riveting conversation that saw him ungaurdedly explore a lot of facets of his career and life.

When asked by Das on his fitness journey, especially him being one of the first South stars to sport a six-pack abs, Arjun replied, “Almost around twenty years back, it was something that was never done before by any other South actor.” He further went on to recall how, “Someone motivated me to do that by saying that any South actor can come up with six packs. It’s one of my actress who I worked with said that.”

Arjun then went on to talk about the importance of fitness for an actor, saying how “fitness is a very important aspect for every actor, especially an Indian actor, you have to dance, you have to fight.

You don’t know when the schedule might start up. It can start up with a song, or a fight. You have to be physically prepared for everything. So, fitness is extremely important.”

Talking more about his own fitness journey, Arjun opened up about the specifics of it when Das said how, “I’m sure you don’t do it the way everybody else does”. To this Arjun replied, “Mine could be a little extreme. It could be a little more training specific, but it’s pretty much challenging for everybody.”

Future plans

Allu Arjun also talked about his future projects, which include a collaboration with Jawan director, Atlee Kumar. Of his next project, how he was impressed with the idea that Atlee came to him with.

“I really liked the idea that he told me and I like his aspirations. I felt we were like-minded on many levels. We hope to bring a very new visual spectacle to Indian cinema. It will be a very international presentation with total Indian sensibilities,” the actor said of his upcoming project.
