New Delhi: Walking the prestigious red carpet at the Met Gala 2025 for the very first time is our beloved desi fashion icon Diljit Dosanjh. The talented actor-singer would be the first from the Punjabi industry to do so, which adds to his already commendable list of milestones. This is not just a personal achievement for the ‘kinni kinni’ hitmaker but also a significant moment for the Punjabi entertainment industry on the global stage.

Dosanjh made his acting debut in the movie The Lion of Punjab (2011) playing the role of Avtar Singh. He played the charming Fateh Singh in the romantic comedy Jatt& Juliet. His versatility and creative prowess reached new heights when he played the titular role in the movie Amar Singh Chamkilaa biographical drama that portrayed the life of the controversial Punjabi musician. He not only delivered an excellent acting performance but also lent his voice to the songs in the movie.

Diljit Dosanjh to Make Debut at Met Gala 2025

The ‘lemonade’ singer is set to appear on the red carpet and make a much-awaited debut. He has never failed to impress the fashion enthusiasts through his incredible fashion game, where he meticulously embeds modern streetwear with traditional components like the turban, kurtas, and lungis. Diljit couldn’t hold in his excitement and shared via his Instagram stories and reel the official Met Gala invitation. He carefully read out to his audience the various instructions mentioned with a desi Punjabi twist. He also shared videos of the room and the welcome gifts he was provided with.

Beyond acting, Dosanjh’s soulful voice on Punjabi beats with a contemporary touch appeals to audiences worldwide. His song collaboration with Honey Singh on ‘Lak 28 Kudi Da’ will always remain a party anthem.

The ‘Phillauri’ actor is more than ready to set the global stage ablaze with his over-the-top fashion with his ever-present turban, immense confidence, and immaculate vibes.

The Met Gala is set to take place on May 5 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in Manhattan, with megastars like Shah Rukh Khan and Kiara Advani making their debut appearances. Actress Priyanka Chopra also returns to the biggest fashion night of the year for the fifth time.
