Post canceling out the “G” from their group’s name, Cube Entertainment’s I-DLE has been in hot waters frequently. Their recently released comeback teasers have faced a flurry of criticisms, and now an allegation of plagiarism have been raised in no time.

I-DLE’s growing controversy

I-DLE previously shared new concept look featuring five-member versions of their already released title tracks, however, this time removing the segment of erstwhile member Soojin. As a result, netizens called out the move made by the girl group and agency and termed it to be absolutely unnecessary. While some even believed that the group should avoid bringing up the ex member as she has ventured on a solo career.

As of now, the group grabbed the attention over the upcoming album release, We Are. Fans had also noticed that they have “shamelessly” copied Red Velvet Seulgi’s concept from Accidentally, On Purpose.

In the teasers ft Minnie, she is seen donning a blue fur jacket with dark, wavy hair, makeup, and pointed heels which aligns well with Seulgi’s styling as seen in the solo promotions.

The vibe and aesthetic, termed as soft-grunge, also matches with the mood board of Seulgi

Meanwhile, a still from Minnie’s album showcasing a green lighting found a match with the album concept of Seulgi.

Soyeon again got clicked in front of a car, both inside and out, accessorizing the look with a pink scarf, yet again a clean swing to Seulgi’s car-themed setup with a hint of pink.

Amidst the flurry of opinion, some fans believe that it is merely a coincidence while some instigate that it an absolute act of plagiarism.
