Story of Mohini Ekadashi

According to mythological and religious stories, the gods and demons churned the sea to get the nectar urn. When the sea churned, it attained an amrit kalash. But there was a dispute among the gods and asuras over the Amrit Kalash. The Asuras snatched the nectar urn from the gods, then Narayan Lord Vishnu took Mohini avatar. In the form of women, it was such a form of Lord Vishnu on which everyone would be fascinated. Lord Vishnu, Mohini incarnation, talked about feeding the gods and asuras in turn, on which everyone agreed. Then Lord Vishnu first seated the gods in the line in the Mohini avatar and started to drink nectar. But with deceit, an asura also sat down to drink nectar among the gods, which the sun and the lunar were recognized and gave information to Lord Vishnu.

When Lord Vishnu came to know about this, he became very angry and he separated from his Sudarshan Chakra from that Asura from the torso. But sitting in the line of the gods, Asura Amrit had drunk, which did not die. Even after separating his head and torso, he became immortal. We know this asura by the name of Rahu-Ketu. The head of the Asura is called Rahu and the torso Ketu.
