MK Dons have seen rivals tear into them following another controversial rebrand inspired by ROUNDABOUTS. The club announced this week that they would be sporting a new badge from next season.

The rebrand sees the badge that they have adopted since 2004 slightly altered and encased in a more circular logo. And the reason for that slight alteration has seen eyebrows be raised across the division.

Giving a detailed explanation of their new shape of their logo, a statement from the club read: “The circular shape represents unity and strength, echoing our belief in ‘One City, One Club’. But it also nods to something closer to home, Milton Keynes’ iconic roundabouts. It’s a subtle tribute to the city’s unique identity, woven seamlessly into the heart of our new look.”

Fans wasted no time in mocking the new design. One supporter replied: “No way have you made the badge circular because of roundabouts,” while another said: “Because there's nothing more steeped in history and tradition than a roundabout.”

A further fan wrote: “Referencing roundabouts you’re having a laugh,” with another also slamming the new logo by replying: “‘The iconic roundabouts’. I genuinely thought this was a parody.”

Meanwhile, one of league rivals could not resist poking fun on social media. shared their own post of their badge, and it was joined by a caption reading: “Inspired by Smallthorne Roundabouts,” which pointed to a football in the middle of their own badge.”

Speaking about the new badge, MK Dons' CEO Neil Hart said: “When the new ownership group acquired the club last summer, one of the many things they wanted to learn more about was the club’s identity and branding. The possibility of a brand evolution was brought to the MK Dons Supporters’ Board, whose reaction was one of unanimous enthusiasm.

“We then surveyed season ticket holders, and that brought a 64.8% mandate for evolution. We believe it’s the right time to do this, it is an evolution, and supporters will start to see that brand and crest appear physically around the stadium and digitally across all of our platforms over the course of the summer.

Who will win the playoffs this season?

“We’ve got a bit of work to do to roll that out, but I’m really pleased we’re in such a positive position. We all want the Dons to be successful.

“We’re here to deliver a football team this city can get behind and be proud of, and the evolution of our crest is fundamental to that. When supporters see it added to the building and digitally, they’ll absolutely love it, it looks great!”

MK Dons will certainly hope their new badge brings them better fortune. The club were relegated to in 2023, finishing fourth the following campaign. But they slumped this season having finished 19th in the fourth tier.
