The cricket match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala has been abruptly canceled due to security issues, prompting an immediate evacuation of players and fans from the stadium. The game faced delays after Priyansh Arya's departure, coinciding with the shutdown of a floodlight. This incident follows recent attacks in Pathankot, located just 85 kilometers away, raising alarms. Additionally, widespread blackouts across northern and northeastern India likely influenced the decision to halt the match in Himachal Pradesh.
Arun Dhumal, the IPL President, was seen urging fans to leave the stadium promptly after the match was called off.

The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) reported that a sudden power failure caused one of the floodlight towers to malfunction, leading to the unexpected stoppage of the game. Despite attempts to restore power, the situation did not improve, forcing officials to abandon the match. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) expressed its regret for the inconvenience caused to the fans at the venue.
As a result of the cancellation, both teams, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, were awarded one point each.
