Early on Saturday morning, a Level-II fire started at the Bonanza Industrial Estate on Ashok Chakravarti Road in Mumbai’s Kandivali (West).
Updates from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) indicate that the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) first reported the event, which took place on May 10, 2025, at 7:00 a.m.
According to the MFB, the fire was contained to a gala on the first level of the industrial estate building with two floors. The region was covered with thick smoke, necessitating quick firefighting actions. To put out the fire, one high-pressure line and three minor hose lines were set up.
At 7:06 a.m., the MFB deemed the fire to be Level-I, and at 7:33 a.m., it was elevated to Level-II. The fire was reportedly encircled and covered from all sides at 12:47 p.m. as firefighters moved quickly to contain the situation.
To help with the operation, a number of emergency response and civic organisations were called upon. These included the Public Works Department (PWD) of the Maharashtra government, the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the BMC ward employees, the local police, Adani Electricity, and the 108 Ambulance services. Six fire engines (FE), two fire tenders (FT), six jumbo tankers (JT), two more water tankers (AWTT), a breathing apparatus van (BA van), one rapid reaction vehicle (WQRV), a general quick response vehicle (QRV), and a 108 ambulance were among the units and equipment sent to the scene.
Thankfully, the event did not result in any recorded deaths or injuries. At the time of reporting, the cause of the fire was unknown.
According to municipal authorities, a fire started at an Andheri industrial development on Thursday earlier this month.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade reports that in the morning of May 8, 2025, the fire started at Gala No. 44 in the Apollo Industrial Estate, next to Holy Family School in Andheri (East), Mumbai. Starting at around 5:56 a.m., the fire swiftly spread to the industrial unit’s first and ground levels, affecting the electric wiring, office papers, furniture, and medical supplies.
According to reports, the fire was limited to the electrical installations and a variety of office supplies, such as computers, printers, a Xerox machine, and a sizable inventory of medical supplies, including wheelchairs, nappies, and surgical instruments.
The fire was completely put out by 8:50 am, and no one was hurt. In addition to evaluating the building’s damage and the loss of priceless supplies and equipment, the authorities are also looking into what caused the fire.
