Bibaa and Nicole: Murder in the Park, available on Sky Documentaries from today (May 11), can also be streamed on NOW for those with an Entertainment membership pass.
The series seeks to untangle the harrowing tale of Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman's murders and the ensuing police misconduct.
The documentary features heart-wrenching interviews with the sisters' mother, Mina Smallman, as well as the close-knit group of family and friends who sprang into action when it was discovered the siblings were missing.
Officers leading the investigation also share their accounts of the events.
Nicole Smallman, 27, and Bibaa Henry, 46, were savagely killed while celebrating a birthday in a Wembley park in June 2020. They had gathered with friends, adhering to the social distancing guidelines in place at the time.
As the night wore on, their friends departed, leaving the sisters dancing together in the park, reports .
When it became apparent that neither sister had returned home by the following day, they were reported missing. Initially, the search was conducted by friends and family.
However, 36 hours later, their bodies were found by Nicole's partner.
In a shocking turn of events, the bodies of the women were photographed and shared on social media by the very police officers assigned to protect the crime scene. While an investigation into the officers' actions was initiated, the murder probe continued, eventually leading to a suspect.
The detectives leading the murder investigation disclosed that a combination of DNA found on the murder weapon at the scene and tracing the purchase of the knife led them to 19 year old Danyal Hussein.
Upon raiding his home and arresting him, officers unearthed even more disturbing evidence. It was discovered that Hussein had frequented forums discussing spells and potions associated with Satanic ideology, and had also spent time researching far-right ideologies.
During his trial, it was revealed to the jury that Hussein had vowed to murder six women every six months in a bid to win the Mega Millions Super Jackpot of £321 million. In one chilling note, he offered blood to 'demon Queen Byleth' in exchange for making a girl at his school fall for him.
Hussein was convicted of two counts of murder and possession of a knife with intent following a trial at the Old Bailey in June 2021. Later in October, he was sentenced to life imprisonment, with the stipulation that he would not be eligible for parole until he reaches his 50s.
As reported by MyLondon, he is currently held in the infamous HMP Belmarsh, a common destination for criminals convicted at the Old Bailey. This Category A male prison is frequently utilised in high-profile cases, especially those involving national security.
HMP Belmarsh houses a distinctive unit known as the High Security Unit, capable of accommodating 48 of Britain's most dangerous convicts. It is one of only three high-security prisons in England and Wales.
