Washington, DC [United States] According to Variety, actress Lili Taylor has joined the cast of the forthcoming movie “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping,” which is based on Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novel. In the movie, she will portray Mags.
The ‘Conjuring’ actress is joining the ensemble, which already included Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee, Maya Hawke as Wiress, Whitney Peak as Lenore Dove Baird, McKenna Grace as Maysilee Donner, Joseph Zada as Haymitch Abernathy, and Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Beetee.
Mags, played by Lili Taylor, was once played by Lynn Cohen in ‘Catching Fire’. Mags is a former Hunger Games victor who is now a District 13 metro, according to the earlier installments.
In “Catching Fire,” Lynn Cohen played Mags, a former Hunger Games champion who is now a mentor in District 12.
According to Variety, “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” movie will be released on November 20, 2026.
Billy Ray will adapt the script, which Francis Lawrence will direct. Francis Lawrence will direct the movie adaption.
‘Sunrise on the Reaping’ takes place on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also called the Second Quarter Quell, and takes place in Panem twenty-four years prior to the events of ‘The Hunger Games,’ Variety said.
Lili Taylor, a three-time Emmy nominee, will next be seen in “Fear Street: Prom Queen” on Netflix and the second season of Marvel’s “Daredevil: Born Again.”
