Cannes 2025 Lineup: One of the few Indian films to debut at the 78th Cannes picture Festival is the much-awaited picture Homebound, which stars Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor. Neeraj Ghaywan is the film’s director, and Karan Johar is supporting it under his umbrella. Martin Scorsese, a Hollywood director, has also joined the group as an executive producer.

The film, which also features Vishal Jethwa, has been chosen to be shown at the current renowned film festival’s Un Certain Regard section. The film’s first poster has been released by the creators ahead of its debut.

On his Instagram account, Karan Johar shared the first glimpse of Homebound’s Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa. He commented, “Some bonds carry us through” below the post. About Homebound Movie: Directed by the renowned Neeraj Ghaywan, the film is particularly noteworthy for him since he returns to Cannes after his 2015 debut feature, Masaan, which starred Vicky Kaushal in the same category. The film will follow the journey of two rural friends who follow their dream of becoming police officers, but their relationship is put to the test along the way. In addition to Ishaan, Janhvi, and Vishal, Homebound also stars Pankaj Dubey, Tushar Phulke, and Shalini Vatsa.

In addition to Homebound, Cannes will include the restored Aranyer Din Ratri film directed by Anupam Kher and renowned director Satyajit Ray. Students from the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI) in Kolkata created the short film A Doll Made Up Of Clay, which will also be making an appearance.
