The Grand Tour star has announced his latest career move away from the world of television. The presenter, best known for appearing on motoring shows like Top Gear alongside pals Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond, has also enjoyed successful ventures in other sectors.

Not only does the 62-year-old star co-won a pub in the Wiltshire countryside, but he also has his own gin line. The proud publican, who owns the Royal Oak pub in the tiny village of Swallowcliffe, was actually once voted 'Icon of Gin' by Gin Magazine.

Now, he is set to launch a rather unusual gin made from British parsnips, which has now been snapped up by large supermarket chain, Waitrose. Speaking about his latest project, the gin maker said: "Any reasonably conceited TV presenter or Hollywood actor will eventually have a go at making a gin.

"It's easier than whisky and more interesting than vodka, which is tasteless and therefore pointless. I was conceited enough to try it. But, in my defence, my gin really is mine, not a cynical branding exercise.

"I came up with the idea of blending the flavour of parsnip (because it reminds me of England and its dampness) with Asian spices (because they add excitement).

"And so we created the unimaginatively named Asian Parsnip - celebrating both the homely flavour of that most English of root vegetables and the gastric stimulus of spices from India.

"It may sound weird at first, but then they said that about the internal combustion engine. And if you don't believe me, Waitrose like it enough to sell it - and they don't sell any old rubbish. Not at their prices, anyway."

James Gin Asian Parsnip is now available in Waitrose for shoppers looking for something a little bit different.

Clarkson's Farm fans were thrilled to see the new pub featured in a trailer for the upcoming fourth season of the Prime Video show, which sees Jeremy and his co-stars return for more shenanigans as they take on their latest project.

While it is yet to be confirmed if James will appear in the show, the trailer has revealed that former Grand Tour co-star Richard will be showing up for season 4.
