In an alert to commuters, Bengaluru traffic ofiicials announced that Hebbal flyover will remain temporarily closed for four consecutive nights in order to facilitate critical infrastructure work. The flyover stretch from Esteem Mall to Baptist Hospital (city-bound direction) will be inaccessible from midnight to 3 AM between May 17 and May 21, 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to expand the flyover by adding new ramps for vehicles heading from KR Pura to Mekhri Circle.

As part of the project, workers will install seven steel girders, each measuring 33.5 meters, over the nearby railway tracks. Authorities emphasised that suspending vehicular movement during the installation is essential for public safety.

Closure Schedule: May 17–May 21 (Saturday to Wednesday). The closure will take place only during midnight till 3 AM on all these days, reported Hindustan Times.  During these hours, all vehicle traffic will be barred from using the affected section, as confirmed in a travel advisory by Bengaluru Traffic Police.

Alternative Route Suggested:

Travelers heading from Kempegowda International Airport to Mekhri Circle are advised to exit at Esteem Mall onto the service road and proceed via New BEL Road to reach Mekhri Circle, as per News X.

A trraffic advisory said, "Vehicles moving from the International Airport towards Mekhri Circle must enter the service road at Esteem Mall and take a right turn at Hebbal Circle onto the outer ring and proceed towards Tumkur road, take a left turn at Kuvempu Circle and reach Mekhri Circle via New BEL Road."

Commuters are encouraged to plan ahead and factor in delays during the maintenance period. Authorities urge road users to follow traffic signage and diversions to ensure safety and minimize congestion.
