was beaming today as he stepped out at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. The monarch, 76, is atttending the event on Saturday to watch some of the competition, and has been accompanied by his younger brother Prince Edward, 61.

After arriving at the event this morning, the King waved to fans. He appeared to be in good spirits, holding his sunglasses and what appears to be a walking aid.

While Charles has not always been a frequent visitor to the show, he first started attending as a young boy with his mother the late Queen Elizabeth.

It is believed the late Queen loved the show and just months before she passed away, using a walking stick to help her walk.

She was seen in the royal box with her son Prince Edward and his wife Duchess Sophie, and was all smiles as she watched the competition.

The couple appeared to be in good spirits at the show as they spoke to stall holders and members of the public.

They were not accompanied by their daughter Lady Louise Windsor - who has competed at the show previously - at the event this year.

Other royals who have been spotted at the show in past include Princess Anne and Queen Camilla.

Princess Anne's daughter Zara Tindall, an Olympic equestrian, is also believed to be a fan of the event.
