Important Update on Lounge Access
For many travelers, lounge access is a significant perk of credit cards. If you have been utilizing your Tata Neu Infinity Credit Card from HDFC Bank for airport lounge entries, there’s a crucial update you should be aware of. Starting June 10, the process for accessing domestic lounges will undergo changes that may impact your travel experience.
What’s New?
As reported by Business Standard, the previous method of simply swiping your card at the lounge counter will no longer be valid. The swipe-to-access feature is being discontinued.
Introduction of Digital Vouchers
Moving forward, access to lounges will be granted exclusively through digital vouchers. These vouchers will not be automatically provided; instead, they will be issued only when you reach a specific spending threshold on your credit card. This means your access to airport lounges will now depend on your recent spending habits.
To qualify for lounge access vouchers, cardholders need to spend a minimum of Rs 50,000 within a calendar quarter. Once you meet this spending requirement on your Tata Neu Infinity Credit Card, HDFC Bank will notify you via SMS and email about your earned voucher. You will have 120 days to claim it, so be sure to act within that timeframe! After claiming, you will have 180 days to utilize the voucher, making it easier to plan your next comfortable journey.
Limits on Lounge Access
HDFC Bank has set limits on lounge access. Cardholders can enjoy a maximum of two domestic lounge accesses per quarter, totaling eight complimentary visits in a calendar year, provided the spending criteria are met each quarter.
Checking Your Eligibility
- Cardholders can verify their spending and voucher eligibility by following these steps:
- Log in to HDFC NetBanking or the HDFC MobileBanking App.
- In the “Credit Cards” section, navigate to the “Rewards Portal” to check the status of your lounge benefits.
Effective Date of the New Policy
The existing lounge access policy will remain in effect until June 9. During this period, Tata Neu Infinity Credit Card holders can continue to enjoy the current benefits, which include eight complimentary domestic lounge visits annually, limited to two visits per quarter. The new regulations will take effect on June 10.
