Kamal Haasan revealed an important decision about the film’s release strategy during a promotional program.

In a step affecting the industry, the thug life will get eight weeks between its dramatic release and its OTT debut on Netflix. Talking to reporters, Haasan said, “It’s not even an experiment, it’s a practical thing. I am happy that the OTT (Netflix) agreed. We sat together, and it was not a conversation. It is a plan that may probably follow other people.” He further said, “This will make the industry healthy and we are happy that we were the first to take advantage of that opportunity.

“On the other hand, the film is directed by veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam and is supported by Kamal Haasan’s Raj Kamal Films International in collaboration with Madras Talkies.

Kamal Haasan has played an interesting role of Shaktiwel Nayakar, while Silamban TR has played the role of his adopted son Amaran. The film is seen in a double role.
