HPBOSE Class 12 Revised Result 2025: Following a reassessment of the English exam, the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has released a revised Class 12 result, which is a huge relief to lakhs of students. The board acknowledged that using the wrong answer keys was a human mistake that had a big effect on students’ grades. The total pass rate has now increased from 83.16% to 88.64% as a consequence of the revision.
According to the updated results, which were made public on May 22, 2025, 76,315 of the 86,373 pupils have now been deemed to have passed. At first, just 71,591 people had passed the test. In the meanwhile, 5,868 pupils failed and 3,838 were assigned to the compartment group.
What Made the Re-evaluation Required?
The problem started when a school in the Chamba region accidentally opened the Class 12 English exam, which was supposed to be due on March 8, on March 7. The test was moved to March 29 as a result of this violation. However, inaccurate answer keys were inadvertently submitted and utilized for evaluation while analyzing this rescheduled test.
Concerns over very low English scores were voiced by a number of students and school officials when the results were announced on May 17. The Himachal Pradesh Government Teachers Union (HPGTU) and private school groups stepped in as a result of these allegations. The use of incorrect answer keys was revealed by an inquiry that was swiftly initiated by Education Minister Rohit Thakur.
The blunder was admitted by HPBOSE Secretary Vishal Sharma, who called it a “human mistake” and promised that no student’s score would be lowered—only an upward modification of points would be made.
