Big news related to the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has come out. The commission has released the schedule of the UP PCS Mains Exam 2024. This exam will be conducted from 29 June to 2 July 2025 in two districts - Prayagraj and Lucknow. The exam will be held in two shifts; the first shift will be from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and the second shift will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

According to the release issued by the Secretary of the Commission, Ashok Kumar, on Sunday, June 29, there will be a General Hindi exam in the first shift and an Essay in the second shift. General Studies I and II papers will be conducted on June 30, General Studies III and IV papers on July 1, and General Studies V and VI papers on July 2.

947 posts will be recruited

It is worth noting that a total of 947 posts will be filled through this recruitment process. The maximum 258 posts are for Naib Tehsildar. Apart from this, appointments will also be made on 196 posts of Commercial Tax Assistant Commissioner, 142 posts of Commercial Tax Officer, 37 posts of Deputy Collector, 17 posts of Deputy SP, 72 posts of Block Development Officer, 60 posts of Deputy Jailor and 40 posts of Deputy Registrar.

Other important posts include the posts of Assistant Divisional Transport Officer, Treasurer, District Commandant Home Guard, Superintendent Prison, District Social Welfare Officer, District Backward Classes Welfare Officer, and Assistant Controller in the Legal Metrology and Science Department.

Earlier on 28 February 2025, the result of PCS Pre 2024 was declared, in which a total of 15066 candidates were declared successful for the main examination.

Earlier, recruitment was to be done on only 220 posts.

Mohammad Raja of Bijnor, who is preparing for competitive examinations in Delhi, had sought information about recruitment from the commission through RTI. Through the same RTI, it was also revealed that the advertisement number A-1/E-1/2024 earlier had information about 220 posts, which has now increased to 947 posts. However, the Commission has also clarified that changes in the examination schedule are possible under unavoidable circumstances.
