has issued an urgent for an item that children could become "tangled or trapped in". The recall applies to a two-piece clothing set featuring the characters Stitch and Angel from Lily and Stitch.

Parents were warned that the set had been "supplied with an excessively long drawstring cord in the shorts" which could present a risk of injuries. A recall notice issued by the Office for Product Safety and Standards said: "A child could become tangled or trapped in the cord, leading to injury.

"The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005. The product has been recalled from end users.

"Consumers are advised to return the product to their nearest ASDA store for a full refund."

The recall applies to the George "Stitch and Angel" two-piece set available at Asda.

The affected item has the PSD number 2505-0161, and the alert applies to all sizes from one to eight years.

A notice on Asda's website added: "If you have purchased the George Stitch and Angel 2-piece set from Asda, please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt.

"We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. If you would like any further information, please contact: Asda Customer Relations - 0800 952 0101."
