If your Aadhaar card is lost or damaged, you can easily get a duplicate Aadhaar card. You can apply for it online through the UIDAI website, by calling their helpline, or by visiting an Aadhaar enrollment center. Just follow the steps given and get your duplicate Aadhaar card.

Whether your original card is lost or unusable, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) provides a convenient way to get a duplicate Aadhaar card. In this guide, we will explain the step-by-step process to get a duplicate Aadhaar card both online and offline.

Visit the Aadhaar Center: You can also get a duplicate copy of your Aadhaar by visiting an Aadhaar enrollment center.

Visit any Aadhaar enrolment/update center and provide your details, including name, gender, district or PIN code, and other details. After this, your biometric identification (fingerprint or iris scan) will be done. When matched, the operator will print your e-Aadhaar letter. However, a nominal fee of Rs 30 may be charged for this.

Call UIDAI helpline 1947: Another option is to call 1947. Call this number and talk to the executive while providing your demographic details. If the details match, the executive will share your EID with you. Call 1947 again and use the IVRS system. After this, select the request status option, and provide EID, date of birth (DOB), and PIN code. If the details match, your Aadhaar number will be given to you.

This service is free.

How to get a duplicate Aadhaar card online? : First, visit the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Find the "Aadhaar Services" section on the UIDAI website. It can be found in the main menu or the drop-down menu.

Find the "Retrieve Lost UID/EID" option and clicking on it will take you to the page where you can request a duplicate Aadhaar card. On the "Retrieve Lost UID/EID" page, choose the option you like. You can choose either "Aadhaar Number (UID)" or "Enrollment Number (EID)", whichever information you have available.

Enter the required information, such as your full name, registered mobile number or email address, and the security code shown on the page.

Also provide any additional information, such as your registered address or date of birth.

After filling in the details, click on "Send OTP". You will receive a one-time password (OTP) on your registered mobile number or email address. Enter the OTP in the space provided on the webpage.

After entering the OTP, fill in the 'Captcha Code' and click on 'Submit'. After OTP verification, you will receive your Aadhaar number (UID) on your registered mobile number or email address, which you chose earlier. A confirmation message will also appear on the screen. Now you can visit the UIDAI portal and get a duplicate Aadhaar card and take a print of it.
