After nearly eight years, veteran batsman Karun Nair is back in Team India’s radar, celebrating his recall with a spectacular double century for India A against England Lions in an unofficial Test match at Canterbury.

Strong Start on Day 1

India A’s innings began shakily with openers Abhimanyu Easwaran and Yashasvi Jaiswal failing to make big scores. Coming in at number three, Karun Nair steadied the innings by scoring a brilliant century on the very first day, showcasing his excellent domestic form abroad.

Completed Double Century on Day 2

Continuing his dominance on the second day, Nair added 14 more runs in just an hour, hitting a four at 199 to complete his double century. His innings included 26 fours and 1 six, ending at 204 runs off 272 balls. His performance helped India A approach a massive total near 500 runs.

England’s Nemesis in First-Class Cricket

Karun Nair, 33, has a special affinity for playing big against England, with three of his four career double centuries coming against England or its teams. This includes a historic triple century in the 2016 Chennai Test versus England and a double century in county cricket last year.

This recent knock once again puts England under pressure ahead of the official Test series.
