Inflation has now reached online shopping platforms. Amazon has now decided to charge a marketplace fee of ₹ 5 on every order, giving another blow to the customers. Whether you are Prime Member or not, this charge will apply to all customers.
Amazon says that this step has been taken to give better customer experience, but customers are not happy with it. Some people consider it to be on the footsteps of quick delivery platforms like Blinkit and Zepto, which already charge delivery fees.
Which category will not be charged?
However, some services are kept out of this marketplace fee:
Digital services and gift cards
Mobile recharge, movie and travel ticket booking
Insurance payment
It is worth noting that even if you ask for 5 products in an order, it will still have to pay a total fee of ₹ 5, not different on every product.
What is new in Amazon’s refund policy?
According to Amazon, if you cancele it before the order ship is canceled, the entire fee of ₹ 5 will be refunded.
However, if there are many products in an order and you cancele only one item, only the fee will be returned.
For example:
You ordered ₹ 500 with two items (₹ 100 and ₹ 400)
You canceled a product of ₹ 100
In this case only a marketplace fee of ₹ 1 will be refunded.
