Air India flight (AI-171) going from Ahmedabad to London crashed in the afternoon on 12 June.

There were 242 people in this aircraft. These included 169 Indians, 53 British, 7 Portuguese and 1 Canadian citizens. There were also 12 members of the pilot and the cabin crew. Soon after taking off from Ahmedabad Airport, the aircraft accident fell victim and collided with the BJ Medical College building.

After this incident, the reactions of Indian cricketers have come out. Many prominent cricketers mourned and expressed their condolences to the affected people in the accident.
