As further details are awaited, a post by Ishu Tyagi, presumably a relative, has surfaced on X, requesting assistance from the Prime Minister's Office. This unverified post claims that Tanya passed away on June 17 due to a heart attack.

The post reads, "Tanya Tyagi, a student from Northeast Delhi, had traveled to Canada for her studies. She died on June 17, 2025, from a heart attack. Her family is seeking help from PM Modi to repatriate her body."

Tanya Tyagi was pursuing her Master's degree in Food Safety and Quality at the University of Alberta. According to her LinkedIn profile, she previously obtained a BTech degree from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology.

This tragic event follows the earlier case of Vanshika Saini, a 21-year-old student from Derabassi, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Ottawa. After completing her final exams on April 18, she went missing on April 22, and her body was discovered two days later on a beach near Ottawa.
