Netflix star Sara Burack has been killed in a hit-and-run at the age of 40, with cops hunting down the driver. The Million Dollar Beach House star was killed in New York's Hampton Bays in the early hours of Thursday morning (June 19), with a police investigation ongoing.
Sara was found just before 3am on Montauk Highway, close to the Villa Paul Restaurant. A passer-by called 911 to report seeing a woman lying in the road, and emergency crews found her unconscious with "injuries consistent with being hit by a car". She was taken to hospital but sadly died later on Thursday.
Detectives from Southampton Town Police Department were dispatched to investigate the scene, along with a New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit.
Sara was best known for appearing on Million Dollar Beach House, a show in a similar format to Selling Sunset that pits estate agents against each other to sell incredible properties across the US. Sara worked for real estate agency Nest Seekers International, but left the company just over a year ago.
Her former regional manager Geoff Gifkins said in a statement: "Our thoughts and prayers are with family and friends. Please be kind and respectful as this is a tremendous loss to her parents and close friends."
Her close friend and fellow real estate agent Paulette Corsair also told Newsday: "I want people to remember she was an amazing person who really cared for people.
"She was a hardworking real estate agent who was there for others. She was loved greatly by her friends and a close family."
