Raipur/New Delhi. The demand for declaring Sirpur in Chhattisgarh as a world heritage has started again. A meeting of the Estimates Committee was held on Monday at Parliament House New Delhi regarding the security and infrastructure of religious and tourist places, in which Raipur MP and committee member Brijmohan Agrawal raised the topics to the development and safety of several tourism and religious places to Chhattisgarh.

At the meeting, MP Aggarwal specially paid special attention to matters to safety and security at tourist destinations. He said that the proposal to include the historic Sirpur of Chhattisgarh, which has a UNESCO World Heritage, has been pending for a long time. There is a need to take a quick decision on this proposal.

At the meeting, MP Brijmohan also sought information about the status of proposals received by the Central Government to develop pilgrimage centers like Rajim and Chandrakuri as a religious corridor. He also asked how many proposals sent from Chhattisgarh have been approved, how many have been canceled and which projects are going on. At the same time, he demanded concrete steps towards completing the progress of the approved project in Dongargarh under the Prasad Yojana (National Mission on Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Heritage Augmentation Drive).

Brijmohan Agrawal urged the committee to formulate a clear national policy and instructions to ensure the availability of safe, accessible and proper civil facilities for the disabled, accessible and proper civil facilities at religious and tourist places across the country. He said that a planned strategy and central cooperation for the safety and structure of religious and cultural heritage will not only preserve the culture of the country, but will also give a new direction to tourism.
