YouTube has now rolled out its new 'Hype' feature in India as well. Google India informed about this through its blog post on Tuesday, July 15. This feature is especially for those creators who have less than 5 lakh subscribers.

Hype will give more exposure

According to YouTube, reaching new videos to more viewers is a big challenge for any creator. With the help of the Hype feature, creators can promote their videos and come up in the leaderboard. This feature will appear below the Like button of the video.

How does Hype work

Users can hype a video only within the first 7 days of its publication. Every user can hype a video for free only 3 times a week. The more times the video gets hyped, the more it will go up on the leaderboard.

Leaderboard will get a feature on the YouTube homepage.
Hyped videos get points, and these videos are included in the list of the top 100 hyped videos of the country. This list appears in the Explore section of YouTube. Top-ranked videos also get a chance to be shown on the YouTube homepage.

More bonuses for small creators
YouTube says that small creators will benefit more from this feature. Those who have fewer subscribers get more bonus points on Hype. This makes their content reach more people and helps them increase their audience.

Entry of Hype at the global level
The Hype feature was launched globally in 2024 and was first tested in Turkey, Taiwan, and Brazil. There, it was hyped more than 5 million times in just 4 weeks.

Along with this, YouTube has also launched features like AI-based tools, auto dubbing, and digital gifts.
