Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE 2026 will be conducted in February 2026. Let us know the important details related to it through this news.

The official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in has been launched for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering i.e. GATE 2026. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati will conduct the qualifying examination next year. The application process for GATE 2026 will start from August 25. Candidates will be able to apply till September 25 without late fee, interested candidates should apply by this date or before that. Once started, candidates will be able to fill their application form through the steps given below.

After this, the candidates should register themselves on the homepage.

After this, the candidates should fill their application form.

After filling the application form, the candidates should submit it.

After submitting the form, candidates can download the confirmation page.

Finally, candidates can take a printout.

GATE 2026: Important Dates

Registration Starts: Monday, August 25

Regular Registration Ends: Thursday, September 25

Extended Registration Window (with late fee) will end on Monday, October 6.

GATE 2025 Exam Dates: 7, 8, 14, 15 February, 2026

Declaration of Results: 19 March, 2026

GATE 2026: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can understand the eligibility to apply through the following points.

Candidates who are currently studying in the third or higher year of a degree program or who have completed a degree program in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science/Commerce/Arts/Humanities from a recognized institution are all eligible to apply for GATE 2026.

Certificate candidates must ensure that their examinations are approved by MoE/AICTE/UGC/UPSC as equivalent to BE/BTech/BArch/BPlanning etc.

Candidates who have obtained/are pursuing these qualifying degree programs abroad are also eligible to apply.
