Interestingly, while some theatres in Chennai are offering tickets for as low as Rs 57, a popular theatre in the city has priced tickets at a staggering Rs 4,500.
Rajinikanth's Coolie is witnessing unprecedented advance bookings, not just in Tamil Nadu. First-day shows in Chennai are already sold out, as confirmed on BookMyShow. According to a report by India Today, Rajinikanth fans are resorting to buying tickets on the black market.
The original ticket price is Rs 400, but they're being resold for Rs 1,000 to as high as Rs 4,500. "I've tried my luck at all the popular theatres in Chennai. Tickets are priced at Rs 600, Rs 1,000, with the highest going up to Rs 4,500. I can't book tickets through the apps for the first show-they're either sold out or blocked.
