Drivers on a busy stretch of the M25 have been hit by rush hour chaos that has sparked huge delays. Pictures show long queues of traffic on the Dartford Crossing (QE2 Bridge) clockwise from J31 A1306 (Lakeside / Purfleet) to J1A A206 (Dartford) following an earlier broken-down lorry.

The road has since been cleared but delays remains. The AA said motorists can expect "long delays". The Dartford Crossing is one of the busiest stretches of the M25, with traffic moving clockwise travelling on the QE2 Bridge and motorists travelling anti-clockwise going through a tunnel.
