It may be a boost to Warangal’s tourist industry to host the “Miss World” pageant in Hyderabad, Telangana.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site Ramappa Temple and Laknavaram Lake, a well-liked, relaxed resort, are reportedly expected to host some of the pageant’s activities, which include competitors from 140 different countries. The event is scheduled to occur between May 7 and May 31.
Despite the temple’s exceptional global worth, the number of visitors, particularly from outside, hasn’t been as high as one may have anticipated since the Kakatiyaera Ramappa Temple was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021. The temple is unique because it was built using black dolomite rocks, floating bricks, and sandbox technology. The hardest rock, black dolomite, is difficult to carve unless the artist is skilled in metallurgical technology.
The majority-Adivasi area of Mulugu would greatly benefit if the Miss World pageant organizers held one or two events at Ramappa Temple and Laknavaram Lake, historian Aravind Arya Pakide told The Hans India. Additionally, it boosts the local economy by supporting the Adivasis’ native goods.
If one of the pageant’s events occurs, the hill-hemmed Laknavaram Lake of Kakatiya-era, which also attracts a lot of tourists because of its picturesque splendor and the two suspension bridges, would get additional recognition.
After a 186-meter suspension bridge connecting Kakarakayalabodu was built in 2007, the number of tourists began to rise. Since the 230-meter suspension bridge was put into service in 2017, the number of tourists has increased even more.
According to tourist experts, the Miss World Pageant would also increase the popularity and patronage of the Thousand Pillars Temple at Hanumakonda, Warangal Fort, Kotagullu, a group of temples with distinctive qualities.
