Reacher fans are already eagerly awaiting news of the Prime Video thriller’s fourth season, which was already confirmed ahead of the latest gripping premiere.

Alan Ritchson is back as the iconic drifter, this time working with the DEA to go undercover and track down one of their missing agents.

Kicking things off with one of the most shocking moments of the series, Reacher seemingly stumbles upon an attempted kidnapping that he clumsily foils, accidentally killing a cop in the process.

However, it turns out to just be a staged incident to get inside the lair of Zachary Beck (played by Anthony Michael Hall), a suspected drug smuggler with a link to a shady figure from Reacher’s past.

Three nail-biting episodes have been released so far, with the season continuing Thursdays into March.

Prime Video has already confirmed a fourth season is on the way, though, so what could fans expect from Reacher’s next case?

The franchise’s original creator, author Lee Child, was keeping details close to his chest during an exclusive interview with Screen Time.

However, he was able to confirm that production on the series is already well underway.

“Oh yeah, all that stuff… we’re always well-prepared,” he shared.

“So we’re ready to go on season four. Obviously, we can’t reveal anything yet, but it’s another good’un, I’ll tell you. It’s going to be great.”

Each season of Reacher has raised the stakes considerably whilst also revealing more about the former Military Policeman’s life before becoming a wandering enforcer.

This year, he’s set to come face to face with one of Child’s most despicable villains, Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee), who tormented the hero in his 2003 bestseller, Persuader.

While next season’s storyline will likely remain under wraps for the duration of season three, the author finished with a promising hint.

“I’ll see you next year and we’ll talk about it,” he said, suggesting Reacher season four is well on schedule for a 2026 release date.

As for which of Child’s 29 novels (and counting) the next outing could be based on, fans already have their theories.

Some readers are convinced the next book to be adapted will be the 19th in the series, Personal, which has some connections to the flashbacks in Persuader.

Other popular suggestions include Tripwire, which would delve into Reacher’s backstory even further, or Running Blind, an earlier entry which sees him on the trail of a serial killer who’s targeting women from his past.

Whatever Child and showrunner Nick Santora pick to bring to screens next, it’s guaranteed to set pulses racing.

Reacher season 3 continues Thursdays on Prime Video.
