“The one thing I really didn't want to happen was to get smashed off the bike because you can really hurt yourself.
“When the video starts you can see me jump off the bike. They then pulled up next to me and one of the men was telling me to give me the f*****g bike.”
He added the thief then raised his hammer above his head to take a swing - before fleeing. Several people in the area have been targeted in recent weeks by the bike-jackers.
Met Police confirmed they were called on Saturday, January 18 at around 1.30pm to a report of a robbery in the Outer Circle, Regents Park, opposite Cambridge Terrace.
A spokesman added: “A 33-year-old man reported he was on his pedal bike when two men approached on mopeds and kicked his bike from underneath him.
Chief Inspector John Hine, from the Royal Parks unit, added: “Investigating officers immediately conducted foot patrols to look for witnesses and searched CCTV records. However, due to the suspects being masked they could not be identified and no further action could be taken.
“Officers contacted the victim to explain the outcome, especially in light of the threat of violence used during this incident. Enhanced patrols continue in the area, in particular at night as well as before the park officially opens.
“We do not underestimate the impact such a crime can have and we are assessing whether this offence is linked to other similar incidents, with enquiries ongoing.”
