CSIR NET Exam 2025: Shift-1 of the examination to be held today (28 February 2025) at Assam Down Town University, Guwahati, Assam has been cancelled due to a technical glitch. This decision has been taken about the examination of Earth Sciences and Mathematical Sciences subjects. According to the exam schedule, the papers on Mathematics, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences were to be held from 9 am to 12 noon.

The new schedule of examination will be released soon.

The new date, time, and exam center-related information will be announced soon by the National Testing Agency. All the affected candidates are advised to keep checking the updates regularly on the official websites of NTA in this regard.

Regret for the inconvenience caused to the candidates

NTA has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to all the candidates due to the cancellation of the examination. Also, the candidates have been requested to be patient and wait for the new schedule of the examination.

The official notice read, "Due to a technical glitch, the examination held in Earth Sciences and Mathematical Sciences subjects on 28.02.2025 (Shift-1 only) at Assam Downtown University, Guwahati, Assam has been cancelled."

The CSIR NET exam is conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the National Examination Agency (NTA). Its main objective is to select eligible candidates in the field of science and research. This exam is for those students who want to do research in various subjects of science or want to work as Assistant Professor in higher education institutions.
