Basil Pesto Recipe

Material:

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup pine nuts (or can also use cashews, walnuts, or almonds)

Method:

  1. Prepare basil and nuts:

    • Wash and dry basil leaves.
    • You can bake pine nuts (or other nuts) for a few minutes in a pan to get a little toast, so that their taste becomes even better, but this step is optional.
  2. Grind all the ingredients:

    • Add basil leaves, pine nuts, garlic, paramezan cheese, salt and pepper to a food processor or grinder.
    • Grind all these things well, but do not make it completely smooth, keep a little granney (coarse) texture.
  3. Add olive oil:

    • Now process the pasteo one more time by pouring olive oil, until it becomes like a thick paste.
    • If you want to make pasteo more creamy then you can increase the amount of oil.
  4. Check the taste:

    • Now add some salt, pepper and lemon juice according to taste and mix it once more.
  5. Serve:

    • Your freshness pasteo is ready. Enjoy by putting it on pasta, sandwich, or grilled vegetables.

Tip:

  • You can store pasteo into airtight container, it can be kept in the fridge for 1 week.
  • You can mix the pasteo well by putting it in pasta, or you can also use it in soup and salad.
