Customers of a Wetherspoons were evacuated after a person died inside the pub.
West Quay in Brighton Marina was forced to close its doors after the tragedy this afternoon. were called to the pub earlier today but were unable to save his life.
The chain confirmed the tragedy in a statement. They told : "Unfortunately we have had a death in the pub. The paramedics tried to save him however were unsuccessful.
"Due to the circumstances it was very stressful on the team, the pub is closed, the team looked after and sent home. The plan is to re-open once the evening team come on to shift in an hour or two’s time."

Today's incident has chilling echoes of an incident last year when a woman died after collapsing inside a Wetherspoon pub in . Emergency services were called to the Try Dowr JD Wetherspoons pub in Lemon Quay, Truro, at 1.50pm on Saturday after a woman collapsed.
Eyewitnesses said the incident happened towards the back of the pub, as they described how the woman had "hit the decks" near a group of young women. have now confirmed that the woman who passed away was in her 70s. A spokesperson for the force said that CPR was given to the woman by members of the public who came to help them by paramedics who took over.
The police spokesperson said: "We were called to Lemon Quay, Truro, at around 1.50pm on Saturday 1 March where the ambulance service were responding to a suspected medical episode. A woman in her 70s was given emergency treatment but was confirmed deceased at the scene.
"Her next of kin have been informed. The death is not believed to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner." Punters were asked to leave the pub just before 2pm.
