Bhanvi Singh's complaint says she was constantly beaten by Raja Bhaiya, causing lasting damage to her body parts. She also accused him of mental torture spanning years.

She included her in-laws in the complaints, alleging they too harassed her.

Despite the abuse for years, Bhanvi initially refrained from taking legal action in an effort to maintain peace in the family and protect her marriage.

Bhanvi Singh has complained against her husband earlier too. She had approached the National Commission for Women and the Delhi State Legal Services Authority with similar allegations. However, she didn't pursue the matter further.

In August 2023, she filed an affidavit in a family court, accusing Raja Bhaiya of domestic violence, abuse, and extramarital affairs spanning nearly three decades.
