Holi 2025: Holi festival is coming and there is only a few times left for the colors to be in the colors. The festival of Holi is celebrated due to the tradition, the evidence of that tradition is still present in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh. Holi started with Hardoi about 5 thousand years ago. The capital of Hiranyakashyap, which was called Haridrohi, is known today as Hardoi. Holika was burnt here, after which Prahlada played Holi with her ashes, since then Holi has started.

Holi started from this city and the ruins of the palace of Narsingh Bhagwan Temple, Prahlad Ghat, Hiranyakashyap, older than about 5000 years, are still testifying to it. It is described in the Puranas that Hiranyakashyap considered God his enemy, believed to be malevolent.

That is why the old name of Hardoi district was Haridrohi because it was the capital of Hiranyakashyap.

Pita had oppressed on Prahlada

According to mythology, Hiranyakashyap had committed many persecution against Prahlada, an exclusive devotee of Lord Vishnu and son of Hiranyakashyap, and he had made many conspiracies to take revenge. Hiranyakashyap's son Prahlada dedicated his life in devotion to Lord Vishnu, which his father did not like at all. Hiranyakashyap tried to kill Prahlada several times, but by the grace of God he used to survive every time.

Holika tried to burn Prahlada

When all her measures failed, one day Hiranyakashyap asked her sister Holika to kill Prahlada because Holika had the boon from God that when she sat in the fire, she did not burn.

So Holika took Prahlada in her dock and sat in the fire but according to the Maya of Lord Vishnu, Holika burned down while Prahlada survived. At the same time, the people of Hardoi were very happy after this incident and flew the ashes of that burnt pyre and celebrated each other. Since then, the tradition of celebrating the festival of Holi started.

Hardoi is also banned on the pronunciation of the letter 'R'

In Hardoi, God also took a fifty -two avatar once. Hiranyakashyap also stopped the pronunciation of the letter in Hardoi. The effect of stopping the pronunciation of the word Hiranyakashyap's word is still clearly seen on the tongue of the people here. The elders here still pronounce Hardoi with words like Hadoi, Mircha with Micha.

That is, in many places in a genetic way, the word and word does not come out in colloquial language. Hardoi still has the ruins and Prahlad Ghats of Hiranyakashyap's palace, which is witness to this historical event.

Religious texts and Hardoi Gazetteers are also mentioned

The beginning of Holi with Hardoi is also mentioned in religious texts and Hardoi Gazetteer. However, due to the neglect of the municipality, Prahlad Ghat is also a victim of Kunda plight which is shedding tears on its plight and is waiting for the grace of the administration. The Shravan Devi temple adjacent to this pool is Shakti Peetha which is the mythological temple. It is believed that Goddess Sati's ear fell here.
