Gold shopping Tips: When anyone buys gold, while buying jewelry, most people assume that the gold is correct after seeing 916 hallmark. But being satisfied only by seeing this will not work. Apart from this, it is important to keep many things in mind. If you want pure gold with a guarantee, then after paying the right price, you should keep some other important things in mind. This is very important. Some things should be kept in mind while buying gold.

First, know what is 916 mark.

When buying gold, a hallmark (gold hallmarking) is seen. 916 hallmark means that the jewellery is made of 22-carat gold. Its calculation is 22/24 = 91.6 percent. But to identify gold, one should not be satisfied by seeing 916 only.

The entire hallmark (gold hallmarking) should be checked.

Check the gold hallmark like this.

If you are buying gold, then see the hallmark of gold. If you do not check the gold hallmark, you may have to regret it. Hallmarking has been made mandatory by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). There should be 4 things during hallmarking on the jewellery. Check the BIS hallmark (BIS Logo) which will certify that the jewellery has been manufactured as per BIS standards. Check the 916 (22K) / 750 (18K) / 585 (14K) mark in it. It has marks according to carat. Check the identification number of the jeweler (gold hallmarking). This code will tell from where the gold has been purchased.

Know the making charge before buying gold.

If you are buying gold, then along with the hallmark (gold hallmarking), also know the making charge in the price of gold jewelry. You must compare the making charges of different shops so that you can save money in making charges. It can be different. Also, ask the jeweler whether the making charge is fixed or is being added as a percentage. Making charge can be 8 to 30 percent.

If you buy gold, take the bill.

If you are buying gold, then take your bill apart from the hallmark. The bill should say how much and what quality of gold you have bought. This will keep the hallmark numbers of the purity of gold (22K, 18K, 14K) safe and if you find any deficiency, you can go to the shop and complain.

Ask about the gold exchange policy before buying gold.

If you are buying any gold, then you may have to sell it again. For this, you should ask whether it can be exchanged or sold back at the shop. Also, make sure that you are clear about whether you will get the making charge back or you will only get the value of the gold. Check at what price gold can be returned. If you are buying stone-studded jewelry, then check the price of gold after removing the weight of the stone. Also, get the quality of the stone checked.
