is back in Sin City for his final run of Las Vegas shows, ending his 13-year residency. Sir Rod's run of Encore Shows will include 12 concerts in March, May and June. The 80-year-old will then return to the UK for his highly-anticipated legends slot at the .

The Maggie May singer is one of the longest-running performers at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace after signing a lucrative deal back in 2011. Rod was initially contracted to perform 18 shows, but due to extraordinary demand, his residency was extended and he will celebrate his 200th show this year.

The rocker is not only one of the longest performers in Las Vegas history but also believed to be one of the highest-paid.

According to reports, Rod's 2011 contract said he would be paid an eye-watering $50 million (£39 million) for 18 shows. This works out at around $2.7 million (£2 million) per show.

The rock icon was scheduled to perform his final Vegas shows last year but withdrew at the last minute due to ill health.

Rod had performed seven dates of his The Hits Show before after revealing he had strep throat.

He wrote on Instagram at the time: "I'm desperately sorry to miss the 200th show celebration. Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I'm absolutely gutted.

"I've been looking forward to this concert for so long. My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused." Despite the cancellation, Rod shared: "Thankfully, we'll now be returning in 2025 and I hope to see you all there."

Not only is Rod ending his Las Vegas residency, but he is also waving goodbye to large-scale world tours altogether.

He said in November: "This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire. I love what I do, and I do what I love. I'm fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 metres in 18 seconds at the jolly age of 79."

He also expressed his desire to move onto swing music and The Great American Songbook in "smaller, more intimate venues".
