Audrey Roberts, portrayed by the enigmatic Sue Nicholls, is making a huge life change.

After living in her beloved Grasmere Drive home for 35 years, move. Audrey declared her plans during Friday’s episode after she came up with an ingenious idea to aid the Platt family out of the monetary shambles they’ve found themselves in.

Residing in Grasmere Drive has always provided Audrey with the distance that she desperately requires from time to time, away are aware that Sue’s character has been living in the ‘posh’ area of Weatherfield since 1990.

So much so that the property at 5 Grasmere Drive has occasionally featured on the famed show in some of Audrey’s storylines – most notably in 2006, when Fred Elliott tragically died while visiting her on the morning of what was to be his wedding day with Bev Unwin.

During Friday’s episode, David Platt—who has found himself at the centre of drama in recent weeks due to being in debt to gangster Harvey Gaskell—continues to face difficulties, even after finally paying off the criminal and removing the threat to his family’s safety.

The Platt family—David, his wife Shona and their daughter Lily—who have been residing at Sarah Barlow's flat since the catastrophic fire at No.8, are beginning to worry that they’ve lingered too long and have overstayed their welcome.

David then asks Audrey if the Platts can move in with her at 5 Grasmere Drive while the ongoing repairs at their residence are concluded, however the mischievous octogenarian has other plans. Shortly after David’s request, Audrey announces that she intends to sell her Grasmere Drive residence and move into a smaller place, using the money to help David and his family out of dire straits.

What initially seems like an act of generosity is anything but, with Audrey informing David of her plans to move in with the family at No.8 and taking over the annexe. Later on at the Bistro over celebratory drinks, Audrey announces: "Do you know, I've already got somewhere. Once you've sorted out the annexe, I'll move in there. You can't expect me to stagger up the stairs to bed every night, can you?" A livid David declares: "You little minx. You've been planning this from the off, haven't you? You can tell Shona, because I ain't."
