Arsenal are reported to be interested in poaching another Newcastle United player, with outlets in Spain reporting the Magpies have made a deal that could see become a Gunner.

The Brazilian international has been a staple of Eddie Howe's midfield since joining from Lyon for £40 million in 2022, but now Arsenal's new sporting director Andre Berta is looking to steady his by bringing Guimaraes to The Emirates has been widely reported, with Arteta also keen on

As Berta attempts to gut the Newcastle side, reports have come in from that the Magpies have agreed a deal that could see the Brazilian leave St James' for £60 million if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. However, these claims are contentious with understanding that deal is not the case.

A £60 million deal would be a bargain for Guimaraes, with the player currently having an estimated value of €80 million euros according to TransferMarkt.

The midfielder has also penned a contract keeping him in the Northeast until 2028 making it ever more difficult for Arsenal to persuade him to make the move to London. On top of that, is thought to see Newcastle as "his second home" and seems largely content under Eddie Howe.

Guimaraes would be a proven option to bolster Arteta's midfield, with Thomas Partey set for a move to Barcelona and Jogninho to Flamengo as both of their contract come to an end this summer. Arsenal will need to replenish the position if they have any hope of pushing for a league win next season.

The reports come alongside rumours of Berta's triple transfer swoop. The former Atletico Madrid boss is alleged to be working on a summer overhaul that will see Guimaraes and teammate Isak arrive at The Emirates, as well as Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi. The deal looks set to make a dent on Stan Kroenke's pocket with the three transfers estimated to total around £200 million.
