Arvind Singh Mewar, a prominent member of Rajasthan's Mewar royal family and descendant of Maharana Pratap, has passed away at the age of 81. His death has left a wave of grief in the entire Mewar region. Arvind Singh was ill for a long time and was being treated at Shambhu Niwas in City Palace, Udaipur. Arvind Singh Mewar was born on 13 December 1944 in City Palace, Udaipur. He was the custodian of the royal traditions and culture of Mewar. He played an important role in the preservation and expansion of the City Palace, and also took many steps to keep the rich traditions of Mewar alive. His contribution greatly helped the historical heritage of the Mewar region.

Arvind Singh Mewar's elder brother, Mahendra Singh Mewar, died in 2024. After this, the property disputes within the royal family deepened. When Mahendra Singh's son Dhuni Darshan came to the City Palace, the gate was closed, which further escalated the dispute.
