The much-anticipated return of Gangs of London is finally here, with the third series premiering tonight (March 20) on Sky and Now. The second series concluded in October 2022, leaving fans with a two and a half year wait for the next chapter.
This British action thriller series, a spin-off from the action-adventure video game The Getaway and its subsequent films, delves into the power dynamics among rival gangs and criminal organisations in London. The first season kicked off with the murder of the head of the city's most influential crime family.
The second season wrapped up with a thrilling finale filled with bloodshed, battles, and more twists than a rollercoaster ride.
As his Paris assassination plot started to fall apart, rogue enforcer Elliot Finch (Sope Dirisu) assaulted Billy Wallace's (Brian Vernel) arm with an axe before using him as leverage against his brother Sean and mother, reports .
Sean (Joe Cole) realised that his mother Marian (Michelle Fairley) had not only collaborated with Albanian mafia boss Luan (Orli Shuka) to intercept a heroin shipment but also tipped off Elliot about its location. Finally seeing his mother's true nature, a distraught Sean strangled her in a fit of anger.
Elliot then contacted Sean with a set of instructions he needed to follow, threatening that non-compliance would result in never seeing his brother Billy alive again.
Meanwhile, the ruthless Koba (Waleed Zuaiter) and his henchmen dragged Saba (Jahz Armando) into the Algerian cafe after discovering she had assisted Elliot's Parisian plan to avenge her Uncle Basem's death.
However, before any harm could befall her, Sean arrived seeking Koba's assistance as they plotted to kill Elliot.
But Sean had a hidden agenda. He later poisoned Koba's burger before killing him, following Elliot's orders to protect his brother.
In the climactic final confrontation, a brutal fight broke out which resulted in Elliot strangling him and hoisting him up onto a crane. As he and Billy made their escape, the screen gradually faded to black.
