Jaime Alguersuari, who once held the title of youngest driver after debuting at the tender age of 19 in 2009, has since swapped the racetrack for the DJ decks. At the Hungarian Grand Prix, the Barcelona-born prodigy beat Mike Thackwell's previous record by just 57 days.

He outperformed Thackwell's debut, finishing 15th for Toro Rosso in a race dominated by , while competing against another of the greats in for the first time at the Australian Grand Prix the following year. His tenure in F1, however, was short-lived due to a bitter departure from Toro Rosso and Red Bull in 2011, prompting him to hang up his racing helmet by 25. Last year, speaking to , Alguersuari disclosed why he decided to retire early, saying: "It was a very simple call. At a certain point I wasn't having fun anymore.

"I wasn't really into racing anymore. I was in Formula E and the season didn't go well. It was the first season of the championship, my car had many problems and I wasn't really enjoying driving at all.

"I thought if I have to choose between music and racing, I'd rather go into my music now rather than continuing to do something without love and passion and wait until I'm 45 when it'll be too late for music."

The Spanish ex-racer, whose youngest F1 driver record was broken by a 17-year-old in 2015, has fully embraced his passion for music. "At some point six or seven years ago I thought I'm really going to give it a go because I love this and enjoy making music, the whole process is amazing," he stated on his career shift, reports .

"It's like going into a third dimension, it's very difficult to describe because art is very different to racing." Alguersuari, now known by his stage name Squire, has not only transitioned into a successful music producer but also co-founded a record label called 'Anims' with Loic Le Joliff, with whom he formed the aptly-named 'Pole Position'. "I've started my own record label," he shared, explaining that 'Anims' is a Catalan word meaning 'cheer up', often used in times of frustration or difficulty.

The former F1 talent is also quite active online, frequently posting about his DJ gigs at various clubs and festivals. He recently hyped up Pole Position's upcoming performance at a festival in Sao Paulo, signalling his thriving presence in the music industry.

, meanwhile, is gunning for an unprecedented fifth consecutive F1 title, and his pursuit began promisingly with a second-place finish at the Australian Grand Prix, just trailing behind . The Dutchman was happy to still be in contention for the victory until the end, but the power dynamic in F1 has certainly swung in McLaren's favour. They'll do battle again at the Chinese Grand Prix this weekend.
