Located in the Unesco-listed Huangshan Scenic Resort, the bridge (formally known as Buxian Bridge) is accessible by tunnels either side within the towering granite precipices.
Despite its position high in the sky, the bridge sits at only several metres long, although this does not dispel its mystical nature.
Upon first glance, the bridge appears to be an architectural piece of ancient Chinese origin, yet it was really built in 1987. However, this doesn't take away from visitors feeling as if they are in a fairytale.
On Tripadvisor, one user said they 'felt like a princess in Middle Earth', while another stated that Buxian Bridge 'feels right out of a movie'.
Another reviewer commented on the bridge's lofty height, recommending that those with acrophobia shouldn't look down, with another mentioning the bridge's ability to induce vertigo.
Reaching the bridge is somewhat of a difficult task, with Reddit user butterywaffles9 saying that: 'You're going to need to go up and down around 3,000 steps from the top of the mountain'. Despite the trek, they added that it is 'worth it ultimately'.
The bridge acts as one of many spots in the area to transport you to another world, evidenced by the fact that the entire hiking area is referred to as the 'Magic Scenic Area'.
The region often fills with thick masses of fog, adding to the otherworldly atmosphere where it is not uncommon for one to feel like one is walking amongst the clouds.
This also lead to the surrounding Xihai Grand Canyon's name, which means 'West Sea', referring to the thick oceans of fog surrounding the peaks.
