The central government is running many schemes for financial assistance, in which special attention is paid to the progress of farmers. Under the Kisan Credit Card Scheme (KCC), the government is helping farmers to become self-reliant. In this scheme, farmers are provided cash for plowing and buying seeds before planting the crop. With this, farmers can meet their needs and improve the yield of their crops.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, the objective of the Kisan Credit Card Scheme is to provide loans to farmers at low interest rates through the banking system for their farming and other needs. Farmers should go to the nearest bank branch today and open a Kisan Credit Card (KCC) account.

Accounts are being opened under the scheme in the State Bank of India (SBI) and post office.

The government also gives a discount of 3 percent on the interest rate to farmers who repay the loan on time. In this way, only four percent interest has to be paid on the loan taken under the scheme.
