BTS’ V recently surprised fans who had been waiting impatiently for updates on his military duty by posting a personal update on Weverse.

V had initially put on more than 10 kilograms (22 pounds) after enlisting. He had told followers about his weight increase back in February, adding, He penned, “But recently…! I lost a lot of weight, right? I lost 10kg… Hahahaha, I’ll try harder.”

“Time for a check-in. Currently weighing in at 72.5 kg (160 lbs). Stay tuned for more updates.” V was well-known for having a slender build prior to enlisting in the service; he was said to have weighed about 62 kg (137 lbs) and stood 179 cm (5’10”).

Many followers believed that he might be going through a normal “bulk and cut” process, which involves increasing calorie intake and muscle mass before cutting down to define his physique. His recent announcement about shedding the weight he had gained spurred conversations among fans.

In addition to sharing his fitness journey, V spent time interacting with followers in his usual lighthearted manner. A fan wrote, “Taehyung-ssi, Why did your body become so big? you seemed like a baby bear but you’ve just become a bear now. Oh my god, being handsome amongst all this too. Also what’s with the Pororo? I’m going insane also i missed you, thank you so much for the photos. I miss you, i’ll hibernate for 3 months. Come back quickly.”

V gave a humorous explanation, stating that the Pororo sticker in question originated from a typical Korean honey confection called a yakgwa. He stated, “That (Pororo sticker) came out of a yakgwa, they sell it at the convenience store.. my adorable junior who’s 10 years younger than me, bought me yakgwa so i go around with (the sticker) pasted (on my phone).”

Another added, “Do you sing on the usual at the military base?” V replied, “of course!” A third said, “I wanna see taehyung so bad.. [i miss taehyung so bad].” V added, “I wanna see J-Hope’s concert so bad…” Additionally, added, “Oppa, can I see your six pack belly?” to which V quipped, “It’s okay on it’s own.. it’s just that i’m shy/embarrassed.”

A fan asked, “Taehyung, is there any documentary that hasn’t been released yet? I want to see,” he stated, “Oops, there’s none… If you want, I’ll film one. I didn’t hear/I didn’t know (you guys) wanted one.”

A comment read, “Taehyung-ssi, what can I do to lose weight?” He replied, “If you eat less, there’s weight loss… Fighting! Try eating a meat-focused diet!” Someone wrote, “Please give a lot of photos. It’s not enough.” V replied, “I’m at the base right now… If I could, I’d give you 100 selcas…”

Fans treasure these infrequent encounters as BTS members continue their military service and look forward to the day when they can all be together again. Fans were comforted by V’s most recent post that he is staying active, healthy, and charming despite the toughness of the service.
